I love everything wedding and happen to be a bride-to-be this coming summer! As I have spent hours upon hours finding inspiration from other brides I figured I would start putting my ideas together to share with family, friends and perhaps other brides on the hunt for budget friendly wedding inspiration. A little about me - I love pancakes in the morning with peanut butter and syrup; playing with my "fur kids" Bailey May and Kohen Elliot; finding new restaurants with Jonnathan; taking random road trips and singing at the top of my lungs when no one is around! Jonnathan and I have loved thinking about what we would want for our wedding day waaay before we were even engaged. Through those discussions we never thought we would care much about the whole cutting-the-cake tradition. Now, I’m beginning to think otherwise. First, I’ll say we don’t want an elaborate cake. We love the simple charming things in life. Of course, one of my go-to gals, Kiss the Groom, offered me this wonderful idea I think we are going to have to go with! A simple antique style cake stand, check. Wine barrel, well the location we are renting has a bunch of those for us to use anyway, check. Ribbon to go around the barrel - not sure yet. Finding a baker to make us a simple one layer cake - the hunt is on! We’re still going to go with a “non-traditional” dessert table featuring cupcakes, pies and cookies for our guests. So I guess we are going to go with a nice compromise of traditional and non-traditional!
